SSLC Previous Year Question Papers Karnataka: where to get them and how to use them
Past board papers are the closest thing you have to the real SSLC exam. Here's how to download them from KSEAB, which years are worth solving first, and how to turn each paper into marks before Exam 1 in March 2027.
KSEAB publishes past SSLC papers on its official site
The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board puts its annual and supplementary SSLC question papers on kseab.karnataka.gov.in after each exam. That makes the official site the safest place to download them, since copies elsewhere can be incomplete or mislabelled. Solve the most recent years first, because they match the current pattern best, and use older years as extra practice for the chapters you keep losing marks in.
How to download SSLC previous year papers, step by step
Open the official KSEAB website
Go to the KSEAB website and switch to English or Kannada, whichever you prefer. Past papers on the official site are free to download.
Find the SSLC question papers section
Use the site search or the SSLC menu to find the section listing annual and supplementary question papers. This is where KSEAB keeps the actual board papers from past exams.
Pick the year and the exam
Choose the exam year, then the specific exam. Since Karnataka now holds more than one SSLC board exam a year, a single year can have more than one set of papers.
Download every subject in your medium
Download the papers for all your subjects: First Language, Second Language, Third Language, Mathematics, Science and Social Science. Make sure you pick the medium you are writing the exam in.

The order to solve SSLC previous year papers
| Paper | Why it matters | When to solve |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 papers | The most recent board papers, closest to the pattern you'll face in 2027. | First, after finishing each subject's syllabus |
| 2025 papers | Same broad pattern, different questions — a second full test per subject. | Next, timed and in one sitting |
| 2024 and 2023 papers | Useful for spotting chapters and question types that keep coming back. | During the revision phase |
| Older papers | Extra practice for weak chapters. Some patterns and syllabus details may differ. | Only for targeted chapter practice |
Also solve the 2026-27 model question papers KSEAB has released. Model papers show this year's pattern; past papers show how the real board paper has been set.
Write each paper like the real exam
Reading a past paper tells you what it looks like. Writing it tells you where you lose marks. Set a timer for the full exam time, keep your notes closed, and check your answers only after you finish.
Log the chapter behind every lost mark
After each paper, note the chapter for every question you got wrong or skipped. After three or four papers, the same chapters keep showing up. Those are where your next revision week should go.
How to practise with each subject's past paper
| Subject | What to do with the past paper |
|---|---|
| Kannada / English / Hindi | Practise letters, essays and comprehension within the marks given. Time the writing sections, since they take longer than they look. |
| Mathematics | Solve in one sitting and show every step. Note which question types keep appearing from Triangles, Linear Equations and Statistics. |
| Science | Draw every labelled diagram and write precise definitions. Mark the numericals and diagrams you could not finish. |
| Social Science | Practise the map question and dates every time. Note the chapters where you ran out of time. |

SSLC previous year paper FAQs
Where can I download Karnataka SSLC previous year question papers?
On the official KSEAB website, kseab.karnataka.gov.in. Search for question papers and open the Annual/Supplementary Question Papers section, then choose the year and subject.
How many years of SSLC previous year papers should I solve?
Start with the 2026 papers, then 2025, then two or three older years. The recent papers match the current pattern best; older papers are useful extra practice for chapters you are weak in.
Will questions repeat from SSLC previous year papers?
Question types, chapters and the style of questions repeat often, but you should not expect the exact same questions. Use previous papers to learn the pattern and find weak chapters, not to guess the paper.
When is the Karnataka SSLC 2027 exam?
The tentative timetable puts SSLC Exam 1 from 22 March to 5 April 2027 and Exam 2 from 24 to 31 May 2027. Confirm the final timetable on kseab.karnataka.gov.in.
Are previous year papers different from model question papers?
Yes. Previous year papers are the actual board papers from past exams. Model papers are sample papers KSEAB publishes for the current year to show the latest pattern. Solve both.
